Bali – the perfect destination for a tropical surf holiday!
Bali, the famed Island of the Gods, truly is a paradise on earth. Its rich, deeply spiritual and unique culture as well as its diverse landscape of mountains and sandy beaches, lush green rice fields and sparse volcanoes are unrivaled. Countless stunningly beautiful Hindu temples are landmarks of this divine island, which has held on to its Hindu roots firmly. Add to this the unmatched wholehearted hospitality of the Balinese people, an abundance of culinary delights and a happy tropical vibe and you will never want to leave.
Surf all year
On top of this, Bali has another asset in store which makes it an excellent surf travel destination: first-class surfing conditions all year round! With its constant waves and countless surf spots, Bali is the ideal destination for your next surf trip, whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced surfer. And here’s the best part: you can leave your wetsuit at home – in Bali we surf in board shorts or bikini all year long.
Climate
Due to its proximity to the equator, Bali’s temperature remains a pleasant 30 to 32°Celsius outside and 28° Celsius water temperature throughout the year. There are no seasons in Bali, instead the dry period lasts from April to October while the wet season lasts from November to March – during which most of the rain is falling in the mountains at night time. You will rarely experience continuous rainfall for days – if it is raining, it is brief and heavy.
Our location
Brown Sugar Surf Camp is located in the fishing village of Medewi on Bali’s west coast – where the wave spots are less crowded than in the south Bali with its mass tourism and frequent traffic jams. At Brown Sugar you will get exactly what you came to Bali for: waves. Lots of waves as we are placed right in front of a surf beach. So you can take our motto ALL YOU CAN SURF literally: left and right handers, beach-, point- and reef breaks, waves for beginners, intermediates and advanced surfers, 2 surf sessions per day. You will surf well known spots like Medewi Point (Bali’s longest left), Diva, Truckstop and Balian as well as numerous secret spots which our surf guides will show you on a daily base.
